Icon NGS, LLC’s Affiliate Tallulah Gas Storage, LLC files for Section 7(c) Authority to construct 24 BCF storage project
Houston, Texas September 2, 2010 | Tallulah Gas Storage, LLC, following its announcement initiating a non-binding open season for the Tallulah Gas Storage project in Madison Parish, Louisiana on August 24, 2010, filed an application with the FERC for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to construct the natural gas storage facility in Tallulah, LA. The project is seeking authority to provide services with market-based pricing authority as allowed under the Commission’s guidelines. In the application Tallulah Gas Storage requested Commission approval of the application by March 2, 2010 in order to initiate commercial service with the first 8 BCF cavern by September 2013.
“As a result of the limited amount of landowner impact, minimal environmental intrusion and the close proximity to planned interconnects with 4 interstate pipelines, we believe that this project poses little likely opposition to its approval by the Commission in a timely manner”, stated Mark Fullerton, Chief Operating Officer of Icon NGS, LLC.
“Timely development of high-deliverability, multi-cycle storage in proximity to the emerging Delhi Hub is critical to its development as a liquid trading hub for production from the southwestern shale plays, LNG and conventional Gulf Coast sources” added Andy Lang, Icon NGS, LLC's President & CEO. FERC assigned docket number CP10-494 to the project.
