Scott Smith

Scott Smith is a partner of Midstream Energy Holdings, LLC and leads the management team as President & CEO. Mr. Smith has over twenty-five years of energy industry experience in midstream assets, energy strategy development, wholesale energy marketing & trading, and asset valuation. Prior to joining Midstream Energy Holdings, LLC, Mr. Smith served as Vice President and Executive Director with Black & Veatch Management Consulting. In previous Black & Veatch positions, Mr. Smith led the Strategy consulting practice focused on the oil & gas, electric, and water industries. Prior to joining Black & Veatch, Mr. Smith was Sr. Vice President and founding partner of Lukens Energy Group, an energy consultancy based in Houston. Additional past work experience includes Vice President of Marketing at Southern Company Energy Marketing, L.P. and several leadership positions in marketing and trading at Vastar Resources and Atlantic Richfield Company. Mr. Smith received an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University and B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Ron Richards 

Ron Richards is a founding partner of Midstream Energy Holdings, LLC and serves as the Senior Vice President of Engineering responsible for regulatory permitting, engineering and construction oversight. Ron has over 20 years in the natural gas industry with the last 17 years spent managing engineering and construction of both reservoir and solution mined underground gas storage and gas transmission projects. Prior storage experience includes: Vice President of Engineering and Construction for Foothills Energy Ventures where he was responsible for all project permitting, engineering and construction of Foothills’ Monroe Gas Storage Project; Manager of Engineering and Construction for Western Hub Properties’ Lodi Gas Storage Project; Senior Project Manager for Alliance Wood Group Engineering where he managed the engineering and construction of Lodi Gas Storage Company’s Kirby Hill Gas Storage Project. While at Alliance he also managed the FEED engineering associated with the Starks Gas Storage Project and managed an EPC expansion of Kinder Morgan’s North Lansing 388 reservoir storage facility. He was also intimately involved with the engineering and construction of Market Hub Partners’ Egan Gas Storage and the Moss Bluff Gas Storage facilities.

James Hoff

James Hoff is a founding member of Midstream Energy Holdings, LLC and serves as the Vice President of Reservoir Engineering and is responsible for the downhole aspects of storage development. James has over 25 years of experience spanning virtually all facets of the natural gas industry from reservoir and surface facility engineering, to market fundamentals research and commodity marketing support, to project and team management. Prior storage field experience includes running the technical and commercial committees for Jackson Prairie, member of the technical committee for Clay Basin, gas storage engineer for nine storage fields owned by Williams Natural Gas (now Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline). Mr. Hoff was the founding member of Alta Energy Consulting a research and project development consulting firm in Denver. James served as a member of the Gas Research Institute (now Gas Technology institute) Gas Storage Steering Committee and is a past section chairman for the Salt Lake Chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Donald Wash, Jr.

Donald Wash, Jr. is Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Midstream Energy Holdings, LLC. and is responsible for all marketing and business development activities in the US. He has worked in the energy industry for over thirty years. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of energy related areas from the wellhead to the burner tip, including leasehold acquisitions, producer services, gas/power supply and marketing, storage marketing and business development. Over the past twenty years Don has worked or consulted for companies such as Peregrine Midstream, Falcon Gas Storage, Pivotal Energy Development, FPL Energy, and Proliance Energy focusing on marketing gas, power and storage services throughout the United States. Mr. Wash also held positions with Enron Capital and Trade, Southern Company Energy Marketing and Mirant. Mr. Wash completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State University where he received a B.S. in Finance. He also attended Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University, Rice University and Thunderbird Graduate School where he completed several executive business programs.
